Dear Family-

So this week I had my first district meeting and my 2nd interview with Präsident Kohler. After the district meeting I went on my first aus tausch with Elder Spencer, he is my zone leader. I stayed in München for the rest of that day and the one after that. We went street contacting and some Catholic lady told us to put our book away and rely only on the Bible so we wont go to hell. That was pretty nice of her looking out for our salvation and stuff haha. I get to go on an aus tausch every week because Elder Evans is my Comp and I have to stay in Rosenheim for this weeks aus tausch... Im freaking out. I have to be in charge of the area. We had a lesson with a less active member this week and my German is still really bad so everything I say is straight to the point so I told him that going to church is a commandment from God and then I asked him to come to church again and he did. It was awesome.

That is basically it for the spiritual stuff, but I have a good story. So we have this thing called a "man challenge" and a man challenge is something that you say after someone makes a dumb statement like "I'm going to eat that whole cake". If a man challenge is said after that then the one who made the dumb statement has to eat the whole cake or he gets kick in an unbearable place. So with that being said, I want to eat some tuna and there was no more mayo so I said "well I guess I'm going to just eat the tuna plain and drink the juice left in the can" and Elder Smith (We have a 4 man apartment) called a man challenge. So I did it! and it was awful! Well I love you guys a ton and hope you have a good week.

Me- about ready to complete my man challenge!

Dear Family:

Sooooo my first week as a real missionary was way harder than my MTC missionary life. I think I am earning the the right to say that I know how hard missions are. I'll let you know more in the rest of my letter but I have a lot to fill you in on. So I left the MTC on the 30th at 5am to go to the airport. We had trouble getting on the plane but it sorted itself out. So it was about a 1hr 40min flight to München. We landed and we tried going through immigration and they detained us. It was sick. We told them how long we were staying in the country and they freaked out cuz we didnt have our resident cards so we were trapped in the airport for two hours and eventually they understood what we were trying to say.  They called President Kohler and he sorted everything for us... cuz he actually knows how to speak German haha.

So after that mess we went on a finding activity on the Straße Bahn and it went pretty bad. Ill tell you about the worst cuz its kind of funny. I sit down next to the huge Turkish dude and ask "wie heißen Sie" and he gets in my face and slowly shakes his head. I think I peed myself I was so scared.  After that we went to the Mission home and ate dinner and had our Areas and trainers assigned. I am in Rosenheim. It is in Deutschland and it is the south eastern area of Germany. I can see mountains so hopefully we will go on a pday. My trainer is Elder Evans. He is way cool. he is from South Jordan, Utah and loves tennis. He is a really good missionary. He is also the district leader so we go to Munich a whole bunch. We are going there tomorrow and I wont be back until Thursday. I have gone to about three lessons and I have no idea what was said. I hope I will start understanding things soon because I sat in church for three hours and I have no idea what was said the whole time, but I did bear my testimony so that was cool.

Well I hope you guys have a better week this week. I love you a bunch.

Dear family of Elder Carr-
We are delighted to tell you that Elder Carr arrived safely in Munich this morning.  He is tucked away in bed now after a long day of orientation.
We thought you might enjoy these pictures from this evening. His new companion is Elder Evans, and they will be serving in Munich Zone, Rosenheim Area.
We are thrilled that he is here and are very impressed with his preparation and enthusiasm.  He will be a great missionary.  Thank you for all you have done to help him become the fine young elder she is today.  We love him already, and we will do all we can to help him grow as a missionary and have a successful mission.  Your son’s preparation day is on Mondays and that is when he will be emailing you home each week. If you would like his apartment address where he will be serving, please email him before next Monday and ask him to give it to you in his first email next Monday.  If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.  May the Lord bless you and your family at this wonderful time of missionary service.
Sincerely,
President and Sister Kohler

Dear Family-

Sorry this is so late. The computers were down this morning and I don't have very much time to write so there is probably going to be a lot of mistakes. I cant write everything I want to and since I leave next Wednesday you probably wont here from me for about ten days.

Last p-day I was coming out of the temple and some Manchester missionaries were coming out and Elder Griffey and I started talking to them. They were kind of jerks, but we talked to them anyway and we were trying to play it cool because we were talking to ''real missionaries''. I said something along the line of '' ja we are basically MTC veterans now'' and they didn't really say anything but as I was walking away one of them pointed out, pretty loud, that my fly was down. Dang it! after that I played a lot of football (soccer) and it started pouring rain, I thought I was in a movie it was SO COOL!  We got soaked and I don't think I have ever played that hard in my life.

I had a grammar test this week and I got a 40% on it. What makes it worse is I didn't guess on any of the questions I just flat out got them wrong. I leave next week too so this first transfer I am going to be riding first class on the "pain train". OH I almost forgot our mission is getting I-pad mini's so I am pretty pumped about that. We also had a devotional with Elder Herbertson of the 70 it was great. I love you guys and I will write you again when I can!

Love,
Elder Carr
