August 4, 2014

Dear Family:

Sooooo my first week as a real missionary was way harder than my MTC missionary life. I think I am earning the the right to say that I know how hard missions are. I'll let you know more in the rest of my letter but I have a lot to fill you in on. So I left the MTC on the 30th at 5am to go to the airport. We had trouble getting on the plane but it sorted itself out. So it was about a 1hr 40min flight to München. We landed and we tried going through immigration and they detained us. It was sick. We told them how long we were staying in the country and they freaked out cuz we didnt have our resident cards so we were trapped in the airport for two hours and eventually they understood what we were trying to say.  They called President Kohler and he sorted everything for us... cuz he actually knows how to speak German haha.

So after that mess we went on a finding activity on the Straße Bahn and it went pretty bad. Ill tell you about the worst cuz its kind of funny. I sit down next to the huge Turkish dude and ask "wie heißen Sie" and he gets in my face and slowly shakes his head. I think I peed myself I was so scared.  After that we went to the Mission home and ate dinner and had our Areas and trainers assigned. I am in Rosenheim. It is in Deutschland and it is the south eastern area of Germany. I can see mountains so hopefully we will go on a pday. My trainer is Elder Evans. He is way cool. he is from South Jordan, Utah and loves tennis. He is a really good missionary. He is also the district leader so we go to Munich a whole bunch. We are going there tomorrow and I wont be back until Thursday. I have gone to about three lessons and I have no idea what was said. I hope I will start understanding things soon because I sat in church for three hours and I have no idea what was said the whole time, but I did bear my testimony so that was cool.

Well I hope you guys have a better week this week. I love you a bunch.
-Elder Carr
